You can register with the Town of Saugeen Shores or contact Blaine Leslie at: Phone: (519)389-3717) or Email: blaine.leslie@bmts.com When: August 16thth to 20thth 2010 16 Seats are available in the morning for kids (ages 8-14 years) starting at 9:00AM and ending at 12:00PM Monday to Friday 16 Seats are available in the afternoon for kids (ages 8-14 years) starting at 1:00PM and ending at 4:00PM Monday to Friday 8 Seats are also available in the evening for adults who want to learn to sail, starting at 6:00PM and ending at 9:00PM Monday to Thursday nights only. Where: Port Elgin Harbor (North Side) Cost for Children: $145/child (this includes all fees) Cost for Adults: $178/adults (this includes all fees) More information: This program is sponsored by the Port Elgin Yacht club. The program is taught by qualified instructors from the Canadian Yachting Association: The BOOM Mobile is intended to give participants a fun introduction to the sport of sailing, and give them an opportunity to develop their sailing skills. This mobile teaches children the basics of sailing using the Canadian Yachting Association’s (CYA) White Sail Level 1, 2 and 3 standards. By using double-handed sailing dinghies we can introduce beginners to sailing, while still challenging the more advanced sailor. Type of Boat used: Vanguard Laser Pico Age of Participants: 8-14 years of age Number of Instructors: Two Canadian Yachting Association (CYA) certified instructors Additional Equipment Supplied by Ontario Sailing: Lifejackets & PFD’s, a coach boat, various teaching aids |
